Dear Friends and Supporters-
After more than 14 years of leading the Healthy Homes Coalition, last week I informed the Board of Directors that I will be stepping down as the Executive Director effective October 31, 2020. This is a bittersweet time for me, as your commitment to action and justice has been nothing short of amazing. I am proud of the work that we have done, and for every precious child that has seen a brighter future because of your work.
I want you all to know that the decision to resign was 100% my own. The board at Healthy Homes has been completely supportive during the pandemic and now through this transition. We have had a very healthy relationship. I am thankful for the wisdom and accountability this group of leaders has shared, and I will continue to support them through transition, albeit in a limited role yet to be defined.
Please also know that Healthy Homes is in a financially solid position, and that the organization's finances have nothing to do with my decision. Healthy Homes is well positioned for success!
This is a time of great opportunity for the Healthy Homes Coalition, It is an opportunity to bring in a leader who has the unique talents that are needed to bring this organization to the next level. It is also an opportunity to seek a leader at the top level of the organization who is more reflective of the communities and households we serve.
My fondest memories are being witness to both the personal growth and victories that I have seen in children, parents, partners, and staff. I have dedicated my professional life to achieving a better, more just community, and I have seen that in many individual faces throughout our community. Those faces have left an imprint on me.
While there is more work to be done in regard to healthier housing for children, a lot has been accomplished in the past 14 years. Now I am seeking another arena in which I can continue to use my coalition building, public advocacy, and strategic leadership skills to be of service in building community, protecting the environment, and promoting human health.
Thank you for your support.
