Make Healthier Homes a Priority in Kent County

What do you see as health concerns for your community?

Throughout the coming months, you have the chance to fight for healthy homes by shaping future priorities for the Kent County Health Department (KCHD) and the area's five non-profit hospitals.  This opportunity presents itself as KCHD leads the effort to update the local Community Health Needs Assessment, the guiding document for public health improvement efforts in the county.

By attending one of the Community Meetings, you can make an impact on the priorities and resources available in the community. By voicing your desire for healthier home environments for kids, you are ensuring that the fight against poor housing, lead poisoning, asthma and children's environmental health gets prioritized by local health leaders. Click here for a list of data points prepared by the Healthy Homes Coalition to help you in your advocacy.

Following the community meetings, an survey will be developed and given to people throughout Kent County. The Healthy Homes Coalition encourages you to join us in promoting this effort to improve health outcomes for the community.
