Healthy Homes Awarded $26,248 FEMA Grant
The Healthy Homes Coalition was recently awarded $26,248 in FEMA funding to make sure families with children have working carbon monoxide and smoke detectors in their homes. This award will allow Healthy Homes to serve 400 families!
Eligible families must:
- Be low-moderate income.
- Live in the city of Grand Rapids, Wyoming or Kentwood.
- Have a full-time resident child 0-5 years of age.
The program installs one carbon monoxide detector in each home. It also installs adequate smoke detectors to bring the family's home up to local codes. The devices are installed by Healthy Homes' staff and volunteers, and cannot be provided unless installed.
To schedule an installation, contact Healthy Homes at (616) 241-3300 or email us.
